Every year, during the spring semester, the Society of Linguistics Undergraduate Students hosts its Undergraduate Linguistics Symposium. Our 10th symposium will be taking place on April 11th, 2026!
Each presentation will be twenty minutes followed by brief questions. Research need not be completed, but there should be enough material to fill the entire twenty minutes. You may present alone or in a pair of two, but larger groups will not be accepted.
Abstract submissions are due by December 12th, 2025, at 11:59PM PST.
Submission Requirements:
- Current Undergraduate Student in Linguistics or Related Field
- Abstract: One page PDF (not counting citations), Minimum 0.5 inch Margins and Minimum 10pt Font Size
- If working as a research assistant or as part of a larger research team, please have the principal investigator email us to confirm that you have permission to present their research.

Information for Presenters:
Limited financial assistance may be available to cover a portion of your travel costs. However, we will NOT be able to reimburse 100% of your travel costs.
Application Timeline:
October 12th, 2025: Applications for the 10th Symposium open.
December 12th, 2025: Deadline for applications.
Mid-January 2026: Applicants will receive decisions via email.
Early February 2026 Deadline for accepted applicants to confirm their participation.
March 2026: Deadline to RSVP attendance
April 11th, 2026: 10th Annual Berkeley Undergraduate Linguistics Symposium
